Here is the meaning of the song as interpreted by TK Govinda Rao.
King of kings! Pray, try, to slightly lessen your glory that you are the personification of the Truth. Haven't you heard of men of wisdom known to be your devotees, strictly adhering to the tenets of vedas and shastras to the path of truth and rightousness?
Have you not disspelled sorrow and protected men, who after indulging in futile pursuits and coming to grief, sought refuge in you?
Because I have come to you with implicit faith and love for you, do not blame me unjustly.

Lakshman,
Thanks for your quick response. This clears up a
major observation which I made. The piece of Mysore
Vasudevachar in Rishabhapriya goes like this.
'Mahaatmule Teliyaleru nee mahaa mahima rama.
mahanubhava sruta mandaara ek pokata neetu mahima'
roughly meaning that great people have been unable to nderstand your glory .This suggests that the 'Mahanubhava' is none other than Tyagaraja .This is directed against Tyg and hence composed in the same raga as well. Can anyone comment upon this?
Rgds,
Kartik
