Hi,
Can anyone give me any info about Carnatic Concerts in San Francisco - Bay Area side, like, are there any monthly concerts, chamber concerts, etc.
Also can anyone let me know about any Sabhas, or contact persons there.

  There is certainly a lot of concert activity in the Bay Area. There are atleast a couple of active sabhas that regularly feature concerts by leading artistes. (South India Fine Arts and Kalalaya)
  You can look up the Cultural Calendar for Northern California on www.indiacurrents.com
  There is a concert by Maharajapuram Ramachandran coming up on the 20th Aug, 2000 (if I remember right).

  All through this week there are concerts ( short
  ones, 1 hour duration) are going on at Sunnyvale
  temple. The performers are all from the bay area.

  There are a lot of concerts coming up.
  SIFA is major organization that has been around for a long time(25yrs) and is bringing a lot of good artistsLike Ganesh Kumeresh, Sudha ragunathan
  etc. You can check in their web site.
  Also ifyou want small organisations yopu can check into Lotus that encourage young and upcoming artists.
  Kalalaya( I think kala Iyer is the person ) also brings artists and holds concert, but they are not that popular and they dont have many concerts I think.
  There are other places that hold concerts like the templein Livermore and also in sunnyvale.
