From 35 years learning Sarode, I believe I now can tell you the correct tuning.
Four main strings Ma(F),Sa(C),Pa(G),Sa(C)one octave down.
Four jawari's(drone) Ni(B),Re(D),Ga(E),Sa(C).
Two chichari's High Sa(C).
Tarib (sympathetic)from Dha(A) up through the scale, allow both Ga(E)natural and flat, both Ma(F)s, and both Ni(B)s.
This is given in Bilaval, the equivelent to C major, but a teacher is mandatory for learning this instrument, as the style is so specific and the Raga system so large, although people do specialize in one or two Raga's, its a good place to start.
