i'm currently learning carnatic vocal here in CA, it's been over a yr.I would like to prepare, and very much interested in taking the test/exam in India.(i know its too soon) I would like to know if madras music acadamy conducts the test. How old should one be/ what i need to know/learn?where can i take this exam?
how do i apply/when.
testing is both oral/written?Could someone pl. provide me with ALL the details, Thanks

  My name is Hariharan, doing my Masters in US(Wisconsin). I learn music(carnatic, classical) right from my childhood. Now I plan to take music exam(both lower and higher) in India. I would like to know how to apply for the exam, how the exam b conducted(like,oral or written) and where to take the exam.

  I don't know much about the exam itself but I know that the University of Madras also conducts a music exam. They might be better to contact. You can be at any age but you must complete the beginner exam before moving on to the intermediate, etc. There are both written and oral sections. That's all I know!
