Amazing ragamaligas..

Sri Chakra raaja.... Maharajapuram santhanam (senchuruti, punnaga, sindhu bhairavi)
Thikku theriyaadha kattil...(just yesterday morning I was listening, amazing Behag, Sahana, Bhoopalam , composition ends with Atana)
Shri.MSV has done awesome ragamaliga with Adhisiya raagam...(Mahathi(janasamodhini keep intercepting in my ears), Bhairavi). Whereas Ezhu swarangalukkul.... runs in the ambience of Panthuvarali raga(composer is allowed to use indifferent swara phrases, no point mapping the phrases, calling it ragamaliga).
Rahman has done a fantastic Ragamaliga with Telephone mani pol...with Abheri and Anandha bhairavi. Ilayaraja’s Raasavey unnai thaan... is again carries essence of Sivaranjani & Maund.
But his composer’s breath-NBW etc.. Classical experts may not consider as ragamaliga, Composition doesn’t carry the depth of raga, novice like me may not pick up the scale shift(WCM). .....(Raaga maliga nna the composition should carry the ambience of different ragas!)

Dear Usha Sankar: Thanks for your response. Have you listened to it? The song is structured like this:.
The pallavi is in Shree ragam. The first segment of the charanam has five stanzas in the ragas : Arabhi, Gauri, Nattai, Gaula and Mohanam. each stanza has a line where the raga name appears (in very creative ways), then a sequence of swaras and then a line in the same pattern of the swaras. After the stanza on Mohanam, there is a sequence of six very crisp lines starting from Mohanam and tracing back to the pallavi.
The next segment of the charanam has eight stanzas (in teh same pattern as above) in teh ragas : Sama, Lalitha, Bhairavam, Saaranga, Shankarabharanam, Kambhoji, Devakriya, Bhoopalam.
Again, tehre is a sequence of 14 lines tracing all the way from Bhoopalam backwards to Shree. This segment is most beautiful.

I think MSV would not have allowed un maivizi, because it is ambiguous (uNmai vizi). But... I will take your word for it. Smile
