Here are some interesting quotes about degradation of purity from satya yuga till now - Kail yuga. If you have any comments we can continue the thread.

adau krita-yuge varno
nrinam hamsa iti smritah
krita-krityah praja jatya
tasmat krita-yugam viduh

SYNONYMS
adau -- in the beginning (of the millennium); krita-yuge -- in the Satya-yuga, or age of truth; varnah -- the social class; nrinam -- of human beings; hamsah -- named hamsa; iti -- thus; smritah -- well known; krita-krityah -- perfect in the execution of duties by complete surrender to the Supreme Lord; prajah -- the citizens; jatya -- automatically by birth; tasmat -- therefore; krita-yugam -- Krita-yuga, or the age in which all duties are fulfilled; viduh -- was thus known by the learned.

TRANSLATION
In the beginning, in Satya-yuga, there is only one social class, called hamsa, to which all human beings belong. In that age all people are unalloyed devotees of the Lord from birth, and thus learned scholars call this first age Krita-yuga, or the age in which all religious duties are perfectly fulfilled.

vipra-kshatriya-vit-sudra
mukha-bahuru-pada-jah
vairajat purushaj jata
ya atmacara-lakshanah

SYNONYMS
vipra -- brahmanas; kshatriya -- kshatriyas, the martial class; vit -- vaisyas, mercantile men; sudrah -- sudras, workers; mukha -- from the mouth; bahu -- arms; uru -- thighs; pada -- and legs; jah -- born; vairajat -- from the universal form; purushat -- from the Personality of Godhead; jatah -- generated; ye -- who; atma -- personal; acara -- by activities; lakshanah -- recognized.

TRANSLATION
In Treta-yuga the four social orders were manifested from the universal form of the Personality of Godhead. The brahmanas appeared from the Lord's face, the kshatriyas from the Lord's arms, the vaisyas from the Lord's thighs and the sudras from the legs of that mighty form. Each social division was recognized by its particular duties and behavior.

krite pravartate dharmas
catush-pat taj-janair dhritah
satyam daya tapo danam
iti pada vibhor nripa

SYNONYMS
sri-sukah uvaca -- Sri Sukadeva Gosvami said; krite -- in the Satya-yuga, the age of truth; pravartate -- exists; dharmah -- religion; catuh-pat -- with four legs; tat -- of that age; janaih -- by the people; dhritah -- maintained; satyam -- truth; daya -- mercy; tapah -- austerity; danam -- charity; iti -- thus; padah -- the legs; vibhoh -- of mighty religion; nripa -- O King.

TRANSLATION
Sukadeva Gosvami said: My dear King, in the beginning, during Satya-yuga, the age of truth, religion is present with all four of its legs intact and is carefully maintained by the people of that age. These four legs of powerful religion are truthfulness, mercy, austerity and charity.

12.3.19
santushtah karuna maitrah
santa dantas titikshavah
atmaramah sama-drisah
prayasah sramana janah

SYNONYMS
santushtah -- self-satisfied; karunah -- merciful; maitrah -- friendly; santah -- pacified; dantah -- self-controlled; titikshavah -- tolerant; atma-aramah -- enthused from within; sama-drisah -- possessed of equal vision; prayasah -- for the most part; sramanah -- endeavoring diligently (for self-realization); janah -- the people.

TRANSLATION
The people of Satya-yuga are for the most part self-satisfied, merciful, friendly to all, peaceful, sober and tolerant. They take their pleasure from within, see all things equally and always endeavor diligently for spiritual perfection.

12.3.20
tretayam dharma-padanam
turyamso hiyate sanaih
adharma-padair anrita-
himshasantosha-vigrahaih

SYNONYMS
tretayam -- in the second age; dharma-padanam -- of the legs of religion; turya -- one fourth; amsah -- part; hiyate -- is lost; sanaih -- gradually; adharma-padaih -- by the legs of irreligion; anrita -- by falsity; himsa -- violence; asantosha -- dissatisfaction; vigrahaih -- and quarrel.

TRANSLATION
In Treta-yuga each leg of religion is gradually reduced by one quarter by the influence of the four pillars of irreligion -- lying, violence, dissatisfaction and quarrel.

PURPORT
By falsity truth is diminished, by violence mercy is diminished, by dissatisfaction austerity is diminished, and by quarrel charity and cleanliness are diminished.

tada kriya-tapo-nishtha
nati-himsra na lampatah
trai-vargikas trayi-vriddha
varna brahmottara nripa

SYNONYMS
tada -- then (in the Treta age); kriya -- to ritualistic ceremonies; tapah -- and to penances; nishthah -- devoted; na ati-himsrah -- not excessively violent; na lampatah -- not wantonly desiring sense gratification; trai-vargikah -- interested in the three principles of religiosity, economic development and sense gratification; trayi -- by the three Vedas; vriddhah -- made prosperous; varnah -- the four classes of society; brahma-uttarah -- mostly brahmanas; nripa -- O King.

TRANSLATION
In the Treta age people are devoted to ritual performances and severe austerities. They are not excessively violent or very lusty after sensual pleasure. Their interest lies primarily in religiosity, economic development and regulated sense gratification, and they achieve prosperity by following the prescriptions of the three Vedas. Although in this age society evolves into four separate classes, O King, most people are brahmanas.

ardham hrasvati dvapare
himsatushty-anrita-dveshair
dharmasyadharma-lakshanaih

SYNONYMS
tapah -- of austerity; satya -- truth; daya -- mercy; daneshu -- and charity; ardham -- one half; hrasvati -- diminishes; dvapare -- in the age of Dvapara; himsa -- by violence; atushti -- dissatisfaction; anrita -- untruth; dveshaih -- and hatred; dharmasya -- of religion; adharma-lakshanaih -- by the qualities of irreligion.

TRANSLATION
In Dvapara-yuga the religious qualities of austerity, truth, mercy and charity are reduced to one half by their irreligious counterparts -- dissatisfaction, untruth, violence and enmity.

12.3.23
yasasvino maha-silah
svadhyayadhyayane ratah
adhyah kutumbino hrishta
varnah kshatra-dvijottarah

SYNONYMS
yasasvinah -- eager for glory; maha-silah -- noble; svadhyaya-adhyayane -- in study of the Vedic literature; ratah -- absorbed; adhyah -- endowed with opulence; kutumbinah -- having large families; hrishtah -- joyful; varnah -- the four classes of society; kshatra-dvija-uttarah -- represented mostly by the kshatriyas and brahmanas.

TRANSLATION
In the Dvapara age people are interested in glory and are very noble. They devote themselves to the study of the Vedas, possess great opulence, support large families and enjoy life with vigor. Of the four classes, the kshatriyas and brahmanas are most numerous.

12.3.24
kalau tu dharma-padanam
turyamso 'dharma-hetubhih
edhamanaih kshiyamano
hy ante so 'pi vinankshyati

SYNONYMS
kalau -- in the age of Kali; tu -- and; dharma-padanam -- of the legs of religion; turya-amsah -- one fourth; adharma -- of irreligion; hetubhih -- by the principles; edhamanaih -- which are increasing; kshiyamanah -- decreasing; hi -- indeed; ante -- in the end; sah -- that one quarter; api -- also; vinankshyati -- will be destroyed.

TRANSLATION
In the age of Kali only one fourth of the religious principles remains. That last remnant will continuously be decreased by the ever-increasing principles of irreligion and will finally be destroyed.

12.3.25
tasmin lubdha duracara
nirdayah sushka-vairinah
durbhaga bhuri-tarshas ca
sudra-dasottarah prajah

SYNONYMS
tasmin -- in that age; lubdhah -- greedy; duracarah -- ill-behaved; nirdayah -- merciless; sushka-vairinah -- prone to useless quarrel; durbhagah -- unfortunate; bhuri-tarshah -- obsessed by many kinds of hankering; ca -- and; sudra-dasa-uttarah -- predominantly low-class laborers and barbarians; prajah -- the people.

TRANSLATION
In the Kali age people tend to be greedy, ill-behaved and merciless, and they fight one another without good reason. Unfortunate and obsessed with material desires, the people of Kali-yuga are almost all sudras and barbarians.

Dear Nitai,
Do you really want to continue the previously locked discussion?

Are you intending to say all living in this yuga as "born sinners" like semitic religions?

Are you intending to say that caste system which exist today is not supported by so-called vedas or vedi believers?

To be born in this material world (after falling down from the spiritual world) is certainly not glorious. Especially having taken birth in Kali yuga mostly means - to take birth in the right place and circumstances to fulfill ones sinful lusty propensities.

The spirit souls take birth in particular yuga because of their particular karma. This is obvious not only from the description of the Srimad Bhagavatam but also when you look around you will find enough proofs for that.

But please, if you like to participate, continue the thread - the topic. Do not deviate from it.

It is an interesting topic. For example in the Srimad Bhagavatam after the Tenth canto - which is the Krishna lila - there is a description of the symptoms of Kali yuga. Therefore it is obviously an important topic to discuss. Makes one detached from this material world and develops in one a desire to turn toward higher values of life.
