I wondered why the pancharatna kritis of Thygaraja was so important and all aradhana's featured them.Thanks to Meena madam,i got a link which explains why they are important.The writeup though is full of technical terms in music. Here is the link

IF you want to hear Thygaraja Pancharathnam renditions. There are humpty number of cassettes and CDS of Semmangudi mama, Maharajapuram Santhanam, Bombay Sisters etc but i recently heard Rajhesh Vaidhya's team of singers singing a Fusion stuff of Thygaraja Pancharathnam. It is a really brainy work and good co-ordination. I could see all the BIG names of accompanists of the Carnatic World in the CD. More such albums can be great welcome to the young eureka minds!!!
