You are right stranger! I never hesitated to praise my students. In fact, students who did well and educated me got a prize from me,usually a box of chocolate. As they say the best way to learn is to teach !

Sriman is also used for thiru and vice versa !

I happened to listen an alaap in Simhendramadhyamam ragam , followed by a short song on Lord Shiva from an old film , may be "ThiruviLaiyadal" by the great TRMahalingam yesterday. I really doubt if any of our current TFM crop singers can even rise up to 10% of his sterling voice quality and range. Wow!!! That alaap alone deserved a grammy. They don't make people with the kind of rare talent like MKT,TRM,PUC,SG,KJY,SPB,JC these days.
