I saw Muradan Muthu last week. Thamaraipoo Kulatthile was the only one I had heard before. That song flows so easily! Not so famous songs like Chevvandhip Poo Pola etc. are very nice to hear. I dont know why a person with TGLs track record didnt do music for more movies.

Am listening to 'sangam muzhangivarum' Best of TR Mahalingam Vol 2 which has 2 songs from ennaippaar (1961) with music by TGL, both are duets by TRM and S Janaki -
ethirkondu, kaatchiyum nee thaan.

Get this album if you see it - it has some very nice songs like 'o jegamathil inbam' from Mohanasundaram (TRM, S Varalakshmi) etc. There is even a close relative of 'paattukku paatteduthu' from padagOtti - kannirendum ondrai ondru paarkka mudiyumaa?

talking about the TRM solo in 'amudhavalli'.
Though VR were the MDs for both movies, I don't
think the two songs have any closeness.

Re manisegaran's Feb 8, 2000 post, I am curious whether any new information has surfaced regarding the first-ever TMS-PS duet. Is there a duet of theirs in Pennin perumai [56], which came before Engal Kudumbam Perisu [58]?

Te first duet of TMS- P Suseela is Azhuvatha Sirippatha in Pennin Perumai.
