villages called Alangadu

I want to make a list of villages with the name Alangadu (literally forest of banyan trees). If you know one kindly tell me about its location and its importance, especially about the temples and festivals of the place.

ஆலங்காடு 1- அதிராம்பட்டினத்திற்கு மேற்கில் 30 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் புதுக்கோட்டை சாலை அருகில் உள்ளது.
ஆலங்காடு 2- முத்துப்பேட்டை- திருத்துறைப்பூண்டி சாலையில் கடற்கரையிலிருந்து 20 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் உள்ளது.
ஆலங்காடு 3- தலையாலங்காடு. நாகப் பட்டினத்திலிருந்து 30 கி.மீ. மேற்கில் திருவாரூர்- கும்பகோணம் சாலையில் உள்ளது. அப்பர் பாடல் பெற்றது.
ஆலங்காடு 4- தரங்கம்பாடியிலிருந்து 30கி.மீ. தொலைவில் மயிலாடுதுறை- கும்பகோணம் சாலையில் உள்ளது. கோவில் மூன்றாம் குலோத்துங்கன் கட்டியதாகச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. முன்னர் அரச ஆதரவு பெற்றிருந்ததாலும், தற்போது திருவாவடுதுறை ஆதீனத்தால் பராமரிக்கப்படுவதாலும் நல்ல நிலையில், அளவிலும் பெரியதாக உள்ள இக்கோவில் திரு என்ற அடைமொழியுடன் கூடியதாக உள்ளது.
ஆலங்காடு 5- காரைக்கால்- சீர்காழி சாலையில் கருவிழந்தநாதபுரம் அருகில் உள்ளது. அங்கு ஒரு சிவன் கோவில் இருந்தது. இன்று கருப்பங் கொல்லையின் நடுவில் ஒரு சிவலிங்க பாணம் மட்டும் உள்ளது. அங்கு கோவில் இருந்ததற்கான அடையாளங்கள் புதையுண்டு இருப்பதாகக் கூறுகிறார்.
ஆலங்காடு 6- சீர்காழி� பழையார் பாதையில் உமையாள் பதிக்கு அருகில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இங்குள்ள கோயிலில் இறைவன் பெயர் அவுட்டீஸ்வரர் எனச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. ஆலங்காட்டீஸ்வரர் என்பதன் மருவாக இருக்கலாம்.
ஆலங்காடு 7- சென்னைக்கு மேற்கில் 60 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் அரக்கோணம் சாலையில் உள்ளது. இதுவும் திரு என்னும் அடைமொழி பெற்றது. அம்மையார் இந்தத் தலத்தில் முத்தி அடைந்ததாகச் சேக்கிழார் கூறுகிறார்.

பாண்டிய நாட்டிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட அம்மையார் மேற்கண்ட வரிசைப்படியான தலங்கள் வழியாகப் பயணம் செய்து இறுதியாக இங்கு வந்து சேர்ந்ததாகக் கருதலாம்.

மேற்கண்ட ஏழு ஊர்களில் ஐந்தாவது ஆறாவது நீங்கலாக மற்ற ஐந்தும் வரைபடத்தில் கிட்டத்தட்ட ஒரு நேர்கோட்டில் அமைந்திருப்பதைப் பார்க்கும்போது இது அம்மையார் கடந்து வந்த பாதையாக இருக்கலாம் என்ற எண்ணம் வலுப்படுத்துகிறது. அந்த இரண்டு மட்டும் ஏன் ஒதுங்கி உள்ளன என்பது தெரியவில்லை.

7 TiruvalankAdu siva temple - is the place where Nataraja is in oorthuva thaaNdavam. Unlike the Natarajas at the other places here the lord raises his left leg way up. It is a snapshot from a dance contest with the devi.

3. thalaiAlangAdu used to be known as thalaiAlangaanam. The young (teenage) Pandian prince nedunchezhian defeated a grand alliance of 7 kiings and chased the chEra king (yAnaikkaNsEi mAntharanjEral irumpoRai) from madurai to here and then arrested him. So he got the title "thalaiyAlangAnathu seRu venRa paaNdiyan nedunjezhiyan)
