Than you should be watching Broune series not James bond series..

Thatz what made this franchise.. so unqiue and most loved one in history of world cinema.. perhaps the oldest!

Daniel Craig is by far the only Bond one can take seriously. It was an excellent movie in terms of setting the stage for the follow-ups (Quantum is the new Spectre) and performances. Judi Dench plays one of the most involved M's and Craig's indifferent dialog delivery just adds to his perceived coldness. I liked the little symmetry of having Bond save Kurylenko from fire in light of him having lost Eva in the water. All in all a well spent 12 dollars.

Agreed. But Bond is not a regular action or a regualar hero figure , he is a super agent , and deadliest spy in Mi-6. I bet my money one more movie of this sort. Daniel craig is out of this franchise. thatz far sure.

Again Casion Royale , he was just too good for that role. Infact the only other bond who came close roger interms of mass appeal.

QOS -> was a big let down.
1) This was not a full fledge regular Bond script which Ian wrote

2) This was short story (like many others Live at 5, Blast from past and for your eyes only james , others) If I recollect rite only The living daylight other short story which was turned in to movie even that bombed.. at box office.
I just to add
I think even octopussy other exceptional short story which did well.

Dilbert, read your review on the other thread, you should repost it here. You are right, QOS is a big let down.

A correction, The Living Daylights did not bomb. It did exceptionally well, on top of its predecessor A View To A Kill which did poorly. It�s the follow-up, Licence To Kill which did poorly in the US (tough competition with Indiana Jones, Batman, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon � they call it the summer of bloodbath).

Don�t understand. What did you mean by original Casino Royale? The �54 version? Which three stories do you mean? After the first novel, it was followed by Live & Let Die, Moonraker and Diamonds Are Forever�all standalone stories.

1) Your are rite its License to Kill which replaced Timothy Dalton with peirce brosnan

2) Original Casiono Royale was Released in 1967 And not 1954 .

I was refering to the original script which Ian wrote for this Casiono royale television series in 1954/55 CBS televised this script as part of its Television Series called Climax! which was an instant hit and they wanted him to continue with more to that epsoide, it was believed to be that he had 3 stories. at that time Which he himself felt that will not work.

Charcater James Bond = was referred as Jimmy Bond.

And in 1967 MGM brought the rights from CBS and turned in to an Movie - Rest is history !

Pl correct me if I am wrong.

My Review :

This got to be a very unique and exceptional movie in Bond Franchise
coming from Director Marc Forster - > this subject completely different league, from is previous venture" The Kite Runner" he did a good job

Bond after winning the high stakes poker tournament Casino Royale in Montenegro and loosing his friend (or the only Bond girl he feel in love with). And we all remember he standing at Mr.White's house with gun.

The opening scene of Quantum of Solace was heart breaking scene for me to see the same Austin Martin.. which I really loved.. got smashed and doors rip opened in the opening car chase.. which was stunning But not as gripping as Casino Royale's opening chasing on construction site.Then he drags out Mr.White from his car and we get to see M and her colleagues waiting for bond in Italy.. Thatz the first frame where you get to see the bond or I should say a Blue eyed Killing machine..with heart filled with vengeance. for a minute I couldn't believe my own eyes that 00-Mi6 top agent who has license to kill was killing out of emotions not with a purpose. That was an interesting angle. But that very same view kind of let's down whole "Importance of BOND" the secret agent.

This leads to, Mi6 trying to put a stop on bonds movement and he turns Mathis who he thought was a double agent. Mathis agrees to help. Movie moves to Italy,Bolivia,and other European destination. And finally ends in Russia Where he meets Vesper Lynd boyfriend who would have set her up to get the winning to the organisation (and thatz the last point of Bond's revenge)

Main Plot : - Villan trying to negotiate between developed countries and developing countries leaders to take control of last biggest oil reserve in the world in Bolivia (or perhaps the only water source of Boliva).
Ford has displayed all its small cars and land rover !! No Bond Girl, No Car for Bond. Dainel craig was more of an angry lover and less of Bond.

He even forget this signature cocktail .. mix - in a scene he will ask bartender to explain that to Mathis..

Let me remind him , Mr. Bond - it is "A dry martini,One. In a deep champagne goblet." Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel.

For me This Movie is a big let down as a sequel for Casino Royale. !

Hope Bond comes back with next assignment which needs him as a secret agent And not as anything else. !

I don't want to claim that I am an expert in Bond history.. There was a reason why they didn't make this movie as sequel to original Casino royale. When they had 3 stories to pick from ! Even Ian himself agreed to this ..!

For this Action Flick - > We can push it to.. ***1/2 (Good)

I watched the recorded program of Jimmy kimmel show yesterday and Daniel Criag and the bond girl Olga were present. Daniel said that they may add gadgets from the next movie, so people who're disappointed with QOS should wait for the next one.

even the spoof version "Get Smart" was a Hit series.. thatz American entertainment industry !!
