Varalaaru was a bit of clever mix of old + new. There were many interesting sequences that brought out the other side of Ajith. (Performer).

As far as AALWAAR is concerned, it is better than GF since it is a much better family entertainer than Varalaaru IMO

But as a complete film, Varalaaru will win hands down over aalwaar.

But aalwaar is not yet another PMS, TPT etc stuffs. It is pretty neat and decent IMO. NO cheap comedy, NO vulgar double meaning dialogues, less violence etc.

But have to say this.. for the last 30 mins, the director needs a hammer except the fight sequence in a factory. Fights are realistic as well. The negative thing can be the dejavu feel one can get in the sequences at the end of the flashback !

and Just for the dashing look of AJITH - I watched the movie.

But I hate to say this : thala should go for interesting scripts than stuffs like this especially after movies like Varalaaru, Villan etc

I am not sure how they are going to remake Kireedom since they have just taken a leaf out of it. As far as Billa is concerned, even if it is too good, people will be more keen in criticising the movie. But Billa will be a sure SUPERHIT / BLOCKBUSTER !

Seems Thala should concentrate on screenplay too in these movies.

Aalwar release on saturday here, but Pokkiri screened 4 shows already on Friday because of late release of Aalwar.

So far from all the news I am hearing Aalwar is doing good business, I am not worried about the winner , all I want is Aalwar to be a hit thats all I care. Onething I clearly understand movies need to promote well in order to reach the audience. Ajith movies never get promoted, which is sad. I am amazed by the fans who are following him as their Idol. Its great. Friends keep up the good work and keep making ajith's movies HIT.

seen azhwar just now my review

First half is good.. Second half is Good too but the first half is much better i guess... as second half u can guess whats gonna happen next

+ Ajith Only, less Violence , maile maile song:), teh movie clearly justifies the Punch dialogue.

How many of you saw today's program at Raj TV morning 8 AM?

Director of the movie Aazhwar, Chella was interviewed after the success of Aazhwar at the box office.

He told that Aazhwar was made at a shoe string budget....8 crores to 10 crores and [cinesouth news]out of which 2 crores was returned to the producer by Ajith due to the Distributor - Producer clash because of the low tickets rates in Tamil Nadu enforced by the present govt.

Director Chella has given some nice information about Ajith during the interview. He was saying Ajith has done a marvellous job and Ajith was happy at the outcome of the movie and appreciated Chella after the dubbing of the movie.

Ajith had told Chella that the new directors lives depended on him entirely. So, Chella had a big responsibility in handling Aazhwar. FYI, Ajith is the only person who encourages new comers and FYI, Kireedom and Billa will be handled by a new comer director. AL Vijay for Kireedom and Vishnuvardhan for Billa 2007.

Though Vishnuvardhan has directed Aridhum Ariyamalum and Pattiyal, it was with the new actor Arya and an upcoming actor Bharath, but this is the first time Vishnuvardhan is going to direct with an established star Ajith.

Films that made Ajith - The Ultimate Star

9) Villan
The star�s final hit till date and again he did a dual role under the hands of K.S.Ravikumar. The film is totally a commercial film with five songs, some breath-taking fights, sentiments and all such ingredients mixed for a perfect masala film. Though, Ajith proved his ability in the role of a physically handicapped. Kiran and Meena played the female lead. He once again received the filmfare award for this film and he also won the state award.

8) Citizen
Though the film was not a big hit it made some wonders in the film industry. For, the first time appeared in seven different make-ups for the film. Each of the roles is different and the body language for each of the role was also diverse. Ajith with his full stab did the movie but it ended up in vein. The full credit goes to Saravanan Subbiah, the introducing director of the film.

7) Dheena
A complete action packed film! Ajith appeared in a different make-up for the first time. He took up a role of rogue. The film Dheena directed by the debutant director A.R.Murugadoss paved way to success to both of them. The punch dialogues delivered by Ajith in this film are still even remembered. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music and this was the first time Ajith was doing some westernized musicality. Ajith seemed little bit chunky in this film but still he looked smart.

6) Mughavaree
This is also by a debut director director, Doorai. You must have seen a different Ajith in this film. A soft person in a middle class family whose aim is to become a music director.
In this script Ajith�s character is picturised as a person next to your house. Jyotika played the female lead. The others in the cast are Raghuvaran, Sithara and Rajiv. The songs were extremely good and music was done by Deva. Nobody can forget Ajith�s mind-blowing performance in this film!

5) Amarkalam
For the second time Ajith joined hands with Saran and the film was again ended up in a great victory! This is Ajith�s 25th movie. This might be an unforgettable movie for Ajith, because Shalini who was the heroine for the film became his life partner. Ajith played a different role in this picture, a dada. He would do anything for the purpose of money and his survival. It is also a love story but it is different, finding the soft corner in a rude person. The other plus of this movie is Raghuvaran. Bharadwaj handled the music and �Sathamilathaa� song sung by S.P.B was marvelous.

4) Valee
Again, the debut film for director S.J.Suryah! This shows his attitude and has enlighted the lives of many such directors. For, the first time Ajith took up double act, playing the role of twin brothers. An excellent and outstanding performance! The character played by Deva was well portrayed and an incredible acting, especially the scenes with Simran, in which she played the female lead. Deva scored the music and the songs were again a great knock. Ajith received the filmfare award for this particular movie and he also received so many honors for this movie.

3) Kadhal Mannan
The debut film for director Saran! In this film Ajith played a multi- faceted hero. He had love sequences, outstanding comedy scenes with Vivek, some fight sequences and wonderful emotional scenes! Particularly, the climax scene is implausible, considering the emotional point of view. New comer Manu played opposite to Ajith. Karan and Krish Karnat also did justice to their role. Bharatway, the debutant music director did an first-rate job. The introduction scene of Ajith was really different and a big applause goes to the director.

2) Kadhal Kottai
The national award winning movie! The second success for the hero and from there he laid a strong foundation in his journey. The film had an excellent story line and the script was sturdily made by Ahathiyan. The others in the lead role are Devayani, Heera, Kiran and Thalaivasal Vijay. Again the music was scored by Deva and it was also a hit! Ajith, as a hero did a fabulous job and he was so appealing to see! Especially, when Heera invites him to the dinner and tries to make a proposal to him, the way he denies it. Wow! What a cute acting and cannot be described!

1) Aasai
Aasai was Ajith Kumar�s 15th film in which he tasted his first success. The film was directed by the expert director Vasanth and produced by Aalayam. The other cast includes Suvalaksmi, Prakash Raj, Rohini and Vadivelu in the main lead. Ajith showed himself as a good actor through this movie. The songs had a great welcome among the audience and the music was scored by Deva. The success journey for the actor started from here!

The confusion of ticket rates was hanging like a 'Damocles sword' when movies were getting ready for release this Pongal.

The reduction in cinema ticket rates forced the theatre owners to come to a decision that in the name of minimum guarantee, no advance will be given to distributors.

Annoyed with the decision of the theatre-owners, the distributors had no other option but to approach the producers urging them to reduce the price of the movie for the areas.

In turn, the producers were compelled to turn towards the artistes urging them to refund a part of their remuneration to appease the distributors.

Now, it is reported that Ajith immediately paid heed to their request and returned a part of his salary that amounts to quite a sum. It may be recalled that on earlier occasions too, Ajith had cut down on his remuneration whenever crisis surfaced.

Generosity personified is Ajith.

இதற்கு அடுத்து நெட்டில் புகழ் பரப்பும் நம்ம சிஃபி இணையதளம். வரலாறை வெற்றி என்று அறிவிக்க அவர்களுக்கு மூன்று வாரங்கள் தேவைப்பட்டது. ஆனால் போக்கிரியை மூன்று நாட்களில் வெற்றி என்று பறைசாற்றி இருக்கிறார்கள். வரலாறைவிட குறைந்த லாபமே ஈட்டிய வேட்டையாடு விளையாடு கடைசியில் பிளாக்பஸ்டர் என்று சொல்லப்பட்டது. ஆனால் கடைசி வரை வரலாறு சூப்பர் ஹிட்டாகவே இருந்தது.

இப்போது தான் ஆழ்வார் படம் பார்த்தேன். இ-மெயில்களிலும் வார்த்தை வழிகளிலும் சொல்லப்படுகின்ற மாதிரி..இல்லை இல்லை.. பரப்பப்படுகின்ற அளவு படம் மோசம் இல்லை. முதல் முறை இயக்குவதால் இயக்குநர் செல்லா சில தவுறுகளை செய்திருக்கிறார். ஆனால் எல்லோரும் சொல்வது போல் இல்லை. அஜித் இது போன்று புது இயக்குநர்களுக்கு ஆதரவு தந்தது போன்று வேறு யாராவது தந்திருக்கிறார்களா என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.. கிட்டதட்ட பதினெட்டு படங்கள் அஜித்திற்கு புது இயக்குநர்கள் இயக்கியது தான். சும்மா அடுத்தவர் ஜெயித்ததிலே, அவர்களை நகலெடுத்து நடிப்பது ஒன்றும் பெரிய விஷயம் இல்லை. தன்னை போன்றே வெற்றி பெற துடிக்கும் பல பேருக்கு வாய்ப்பு தந்தவர் அஜித். எஸ்.ஜே.சூர்யா முதல் ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் வரை புதுமுகங்கள் தான், அவர்கள் முதல் படங்களை எடுக்கும் போது. இவர்களை எல்லாம் நம்பிக்கையோடு அரவணைத்திருக்காவிட்டால் இவர்கள் இன்று முகம் காட்டியிருக்க முடியுமா? அப்படி கொடுத்தது தான் செல்லாவுக்கும் வாய்ப்பு. அந்த வாய்ப்பையும் அவர் சரியாகத் தான் பயன்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார். எனது ஊர் நண்பர்களுக்கு போன் செய்து கேட்டபோது, பொங்கலன்று, போக்கிரி சரியில்லை என்றார்கள். ஆழ்வார் நன்றாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.. மற்ற எல்லா நண்பர்களும் போக்கிரி விமர்சனத்தில் குறியிருப்பது போல், தெலுங்கு போக்கிரி படத்தை மட்டுமல்ல, அதன் நாயகனின் நடை உடை பாவனையையும் அப்படியே காப்பி அடித்திருக்கிறார்களாம்.. நான் மற்றவர்களை குறை சொல்லவில்லை. ஆனால் இப்படி தனியாக எந்த விளம்பரங்களும் இல்லாமல் முன்னேறும் ஒருவருக்கு இப்படியா வதந்திகள் மூலம் படத்தை ஓடவிடாமல் செய்வது.

There had been a lot of stories very similar to this earlier .... ella padathayum sethu pottu senjadhu .... kadhai may not be very strong in the movie..... similar concept aaga irundhaalum vithiyaasamaa sollirundhaa, it would have really proved ..... but marupadiyum adhe maadiri solradhu, did not go so good with the movie ....nirayaa idathula anniyan nyaabagam varudhu ....

Well let me see wat Kireedom has in store for Thala ...

I beleive star actors movies hit or flop based on the response from non-fans of that actor .Most fans of star actors never failed to watch their star's movies .So fans won't make much different .when non-fans of that actor came to know movie is good ,it became hit ,otherwise movie will be flop.

There are many movies praised by media (Eg Anbe sivam ,Hey Ram) but flopped since general audience didn't like it.

2 Weeks back I saw the program "Neengal Ketta Padal by Vijay Sarathy" in Sun TV.

Normally he asked the each one the family members about their favoirite Actor/actress and show clippings of those actors/actress.

Some one in the family said "Ajith is appropriate for Particular role". They didnt show any clippings. After that Some one said Dhanush/Simbu. They shown the clippings of Dhansh and simbu then.

They did this for 2 consecutive songs.

Ajith has come up with an outstanding performance in his latest movie Aalwar. The movie has had a great opening all over Tamilnadu where it has been screened. Following up with the success of Varalaaru, Ajit proves that he deserves the title "The Ultimate Star".
This is the second movie in which the successful pair Ajith and Asin are together. It is to be noted that the previous movie Varalaaru is creating a 'Varalaaru' in the Tamil industry by nearing the magical 100 days mark. It is also worth mentioning that this is another mother-son-sister sentiment after the blockbuster hit Tirupathi.

'Shiva' the character name for Ajith spells success as it has in most of his movies like Valee etc. How the character Aalwar, the priest changes into the character Shiva is the simple synopsis of this movie. Aalwar comes in an interesting role of a priest and he is very much attached to his sister and mother. Unfortunately Aalwar's sister and mother are killed by the villains Lal, Vincent Asokan and others. Aalwar is also pronounced dead but he comes back as Shiva, a ward boy in a government hospital. Shiva takes the role of Narasimha to take revenge and uses the punch line "Naan Kadavul" which creates a roaring applause in the theatres.

Asin is beautiful as always and she captures the screen by her presence. The songs of Asin and Ajith are picturized beautifully in Switzerland and the director needs to be applauded for this. Vivek comes and does a marvelous job along with Manorama. The music is good and the background score gives the audience a good experience. Overall Aalwar fulfills the expectations of the Ajith fans and is set to deliver the expectations of the Pongal Tiruvalizha.

Even before Aalwar’s release, Ajith has quickly moved on to his next film Kireedam to be directed by debu- tant director, Vijay. A song Kannodu Kan Serumbhodhu choreographed by the director himself was filmed on Ajith and Trisha recently at Rajamundhry’s Paper Mill Ground. A huge crowd of about 5,000 men and women had gathered there to catch a glimpse of Ajith and Trisha and they referred to them as Devuda (God). The unit had a tough time handling the crowd. Talking about the incident, Vijay said, “When finally we did manage to con- trol the crowd, we heard murmurs and had no clue from where it was origi- nating. Then we realised that hun- dreds of people who were sitting on all the trees were responsible for the hullabaloo. It became a mammoth task to bring them down from the trees.” According to him, all the songs are conceptualised well and none appear as forced. The songs are a natural pro- gression to the story. He was all praise for GV Prakash for the five songs that he has composed for his film.
