Michaei Crhichton is a pale imitation of himself from the CONGO days, where he spunn a great story talking about primates speaking a language, Remote sensing, Computer chips(Optical) et al...In timeline most of it is violence....
I did not like it one bit.
Give me the old micheal back

timeline is an excellent example of crichton's amazing writing abilities. in my opinion this is his best book yet. he captures the thrill of adventure and gives us knowledge of the past in a very interesting way. thank you micheal

Timeline is a one really amazing book. Micahel Crichton always does a lot of research before he writes his books. and this time it was physics and history. I think its his best work yet. and tho he has written lotsa other fantastic books based on science..this is the one i like most coz of the physics! I wonder how his most recent book..'prey' is doing? Has anyone read it?

Timeline is a good book, but a not so great ending - kinda rushed and unsatisfying...

WOW! that was a prefect implimentation of Quantum Mechanix! and Quantum Theory. Lets see how long it takes in reality for that to happen

Actually, I don't think Timeline's funda's are all that great. But that might be because Quantum Physics itself is more like fantasy than reality. Yeah, there's lot of violence, but I never realized how violent the early days were until I read Timeline (see forumhub.com/expr/29796.22573.11.27.08.html). This is the first book that gave me a common man's perspective of history (all other's were from Kings or Ministers or Priests).
And I really liked the ending (the postscriptum) - though it was kinda expected, I really loved the history folding back on itself thingie. Maybe I liked it because he had ended it the way I wanted it to have ended. And, yeah, it would make a very good movie, even if you stick to the book.

hi guys..........
let me start by saying that i have read all of crichton's books......... i am a great fan of his ( i even have a personally signed photograph of the great guy ).
i loved timeline..... it is undoubtedly his best......... yet.......... i am sure he will give us better in the future........ what i like most about him is that he makes everything so believable....... one cant help putting down his books feeling that you had just read about something that had happened.........
i got timeline as a bday gift........ my cousin sis who gave it to me told me not to read the back of the book......... she wanted me to read it not knowing anything about it......... and when i came to that portion " HELP ME " ( those who have read the book will understand ) i was hooked........
i read prey........ i enjoyed it....... its a bit more tough to grasp the whole idea......... and cannot be compared to timeline......... it is good though........ worth reading.......

Timeline is Crichton's best book yet. I was hooked just from the title. If you love medival history and you also love pysics, this book is perfect for you. I believe he is the best author of the 21st century.

Micheal crichton's "Timeline" is a well thought out story with what could only be a pre-consception of what could be possible with technology in the present future. The story is fantastic and offers a basic insite into physics, history and I cant wait to see the motion picture tho i'm sure it wont bring across the same atmosphere as the book. I'm looking foward to reading more of micheal crichton's books and hope there is plenty more fantastic stories on the way.

there is a concept called 'worm hole' which talks about time travel.............now that makes the theory of timeline possible eh.........practically.....lol?
no comments!

But you have to admit 'Prey' was pathetic. Probably because he had a movie studio contacting him in mind all the time while he wrote it.
